My Dad died. With that I suddenly found myself in this surreal place where all the world went on and I was stopped, watching it all inexplicably go by. And at this time we were supposed to plan a funeral? And make all these decisions? How could we, and especially me, possibly do that?

And so we turned to Journeys of the Heart. In our consummate grief, they guided us, knew what was needed, understood our pain, and, most importantly, helped us create a memorial service that honored my Dad. Because in the end, after everything was over, that’s what we carried with us and continue to carry with us to this day: a service that honored a gentle, kind and loving man; that spoke to his spirit and his heart; that comforted and uplifted us. It is the ultimate gift.

For that, our family is forever grateful to Journeys of the Heart.

Even if you know the day is coming, planning a funeral is a whirlwind where a lot of important details have to be worked out in an extremely short amount of time, all while you’re consumed with processing your own grief.

That’s why Journeys of the Heart made such a difference for us. Our officiant really took the time to make sure she understood our family, our story, and the life we were celebrating. She was genuinely empathetic, totally dialed in on learning about us and our loss, and gave us full personal attention in a non-invasive way. The end result was a ceremony that felt deeply personal and very connected, and above all, authentic.

The events of what could have been such a sad day have become a cherished memory for our family. There is no doubt in my mind, the beautiful and inspiring work that Journeys of the Heart did for us is the main reason. We could not be more grateful.
